Evacuation routes and preparedness

Guidance for preparing and evacuating during a flood, following announcements from local civil-defence authorities.

  1. Follow official flood warnings from government agencies regularly
  2. Keep important documents, medication, a torch and drinking water ready to grab immediately
  3. Unplug electrical appliances and move valuables to a high place before leaving
  4. Use evacuation routes announced by officials; avoid roads with high flood water
  5. Go to the designated evacuation point or shelter and report to officials on arrival
